Smiles after the "Taking the Silk" ceremony from the Chief Justice in the Supreme Court. The black gown of a junior barrister is replaced with a black silk gown, and barristers are promoted to senior level. They often work for 15 years to reach the title. The tradition of court dress and wearing wigs by barristers and judges has survived despite the complaints of younger members of the profession.
